What is the flip flop effect?
It’s the simplest effect in lenticular printing and consists of the continuous alternation of two images.
It is ideal for conveying concepts of change such as before-after, old-new, etc.
How should you prepare the file?
To reproduce a flip flop effect you only need a PDF file.
But don’t be fooled, with this simple PDF you can achieve very attractive visual effects.
Specifically, the file must have the following characteristics:
> PDF file with 2 images
> 300 dpi resolution
> 2 mm bleed
> CMYK format
How can you improve the result?
Keep the following recommendations in mind if you want to achieve the best flip flop effect:
> Use colourful images
These images work best as they integrate better with each other. On the other hand, black and white images can hinder the flip flop effect.
> Use textured images
These images are the most suitable as they make it easier to switch from one to another. On the other hand, flat images can lead to the so-called ‘ghosting effect’.
> Use images that are similar to each other
These images allow for a clean and effective flip flop effect. On the other hand, images that are too dissimilar to each other can make it difficult.
And that’s all!
